History
As a kit, Shadowflame was the most boisterous one in the nursery. He was always caught messing with the prey in the fresh-kill pile, clawing the warriors' tails, and bothering the poor medicine cat. He had a younger brother named Eaglekit who was a bit more skeptical and wary, and disapproved of Shadowkit's adventures. But even at that young age Shadowkit was swift and persuasive with his tongue and eventually convinced his brother, Eaglekit, to join him in his antics. Together, they shared the mischief and the consequences, which tightened their bond of brotherhood. They were apprenticed together and the Clan tried to separate the brothers with no avail.
Shadowpaw's mentor was a fun-loving and carefree young tom named Jaguartail. Shadowpaw was Jaguartail's first apprentice, so they both learned from each other. At first they were just a lighthearted, teasing pair that took nothing seriously. That was, until Jaguartail and Shadowpaw got their first taste of real battle. Their Clan won, but suffered quite a few injuries. It was then that Shadowpaw realized that he wanted to lead; he discovered his ambition. Shadowpaw told Jaguartail about his aspirations. His mentor decided that Shadowpaw had potential, that he had an actual chance, because Jaguartail saw in his apprentice a passion for helping the Clan become its best. From then on, the duo trained almost literally night and day, rising from the rank of those two cats you go to if you want a laugh, to the place of the mentor and apprentice pair you go to if you want to get something done. Despite all of the fun the mentor and apprentice had together, Shadowpaw's apprentice years were perhaps the most tragic of his life. Sootheart, Shadowpaw and Eaglepaw's mother, passed to StarClan from greencough roughly a moon before the warrior ceremony of her two only sons. Both of the brothers were submersed in grief, but Shadowpaw pushed through faster and with more ease. Eaglepaw, on the other hand, mourned the loss of his mother for an entire half-moon, missing vital lessons from his mentor, Sparrowpelt, and delaying his own warrior ceremony. But despite the rapidity of his recovery from the death of his mother, Shadowpaw was often distracted during training and found it difficult to focus during lectures on battle and hunting techniques. Nevertheless, Eaglepaw and Shadowpaw both recieved their warrior names in time, but both of them became more solemn, serious, and responsible.
Shadowflame recieved his warrior name on his fourteenth moon. He became less blithe and started acting more responsible to his duties as a member of the Clan and as a warrior. For that reason (and the peculiar change in his personality), the leader of MarshClan took it to herself to give the new warrior his own apprentice almost exactly one moon after his warrior ceremony. The young apprentice was a late bloomer, a seven-moon old tom named Frostpaw. Frostpaw was a sweet, mild-mannered little tom that was constantly badgered and bothered by his nursery mates because of his heterochromia.
